30. ‘In a Hat’
Autumn is said to be the season for reading, art and sport, but for me, it has to be food first! I start to miss Japanese saury and new rice around this time, but here in Scotland, delicious apples, salmon and game such as pheasant also start appearing in the shops, so there’s plenty to look forward to. I remember a friend giving me a basketfull of green cooking apples from our garden every year.
